Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Software Development Manager to lead their rapidly growing delivery team. As a Software Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to hire and scale their growing delivery team.

Working model: Hybrid (1 day per week on site – Wednesday – or more should you choose)
Location: Madrid
Contract: Permanent
Salary on offer: Base circa 95kup to 120k including bonus / benefits package

In this role you will lead a talented professional services team, overseeing customer onboarding and solution architecture.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in enterprise software development and a deep understanding of the Java ecosystem, including the Spring framework. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership (CTO, CEO & Senior Leadership Team) to define the overall delivery strategy.
  • Manage and scale the delivery function across the organization.
  • Work with various teams to draft statements of work and manage platform cloud costs and estimate capacity for the Delivery function.
  • Work in Agile (Scrum) teams feature teams to define Epics and associated stories and areas of research (Spikes) for Delivery and new Customer onboarding.
  • Lead the hiring and development of the delivery team, ensuring a high level of talent and expertise.
  • Drive customer engagement during onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition and exceptional service delivery.
  • Provide oversight of solution architecture, integration, DevOps, and support functions to maintain high-quality service standards.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Set clear team goals.
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Motivate team members.
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking.
  • Suggest and organize team building activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale deployments for enterprise customers.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in server-side software, consumer UX, personalization, analytics/AI, and tooling.
  • Expert level understanding of Java ecosystem, including Spring framework components.
  • Familiarity with REST API, XML, and JSON related technologies.
