Our client, an international software R&D company delivering cutting edge solutions and multiple software products in the MedTech / MedDevice sector are currently hiring an experienced Build and Release Engineer

As a Build and Release Engineer you will oversee the end-to-end release process for the clients’ software solutions, with a focus on streamlining and optimising release management workflows.

You must possess a combination of technical expertise, process-oriented mindset, and effective communication skills to excel in this role. The ideal candidate will have experience in release engineering, build management, or a similar role, with proven experience implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines. You will also need to have a strong understanding of release management best practices and methodologies, with the ability to analyse, design, and improve complex release processes. Overall, the Release Engineer is a key player in helping our client  streamline their operations and provide exceptional patient care to their clients in the eyecare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and enhance the efficiency of the release management process.
  • Track and manage the technical aspects and configuration, while providing support to customers.
  • Spearhead the end-to-end release process, focusing on optimising workflows for the clients software solutions.
  • Drive efficiency by identifying automation opportunities and implementing streamlined solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate release activities and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline issues swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support release processes and configurations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, ensuring rapid resolution to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure new software releases are compatible with existing software, hardware, and systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for release processes, configurations, and deployment procedures.
  • Provide training and support to team members on release-related processes and tools

Technologies Needed:

  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub for software compilation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages like Shell and Python for process automation.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in release engineering or build management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Strong grasp of release management best practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with fluent English proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills with perfectly fluent English.
