Our client, a leading multinational conglomerate in the furniture and home accessories industry, is seeking a highly skilled Digital Accessibility Specialist to join their Digital Inclusive Design, Equity, & Accessibility Centre of Expertise (Digital IDEA CoE) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to ensuring that all digital experiences and products meet the needs of diverse customers and coworkers, with a particular focus on digital accessibility and compliance with WCAG standards.
Role Description
As a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting product teams on accessibility issues, conducting audits, and providing recommendations for improving digital accessibility. The ideal candidate will have a background in UX design and/or engineering, with extensive knowledge of technical accessibility concepts and tools. This position requires a tactical approach to problem-solving while also contributing to the company’s overall accessibility strategy.
Must Have Skills
- Extensive knowledge of digital accessibility audits, testing, and problem resolution
- Comprehensive understanding of various accessibility standards and testing tools
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, iOS VoiceOver, and Android Talkback
- Strong background in UX design and/or engineering
- Experience in conducting accessibility audits and providing recommendations
Nice to Have Skills
- Certification in digital accessibility
- Knowledge of global accessibility laws, guidelines, and regulations
- Experience working with global enterprise companies
- Understanding of measuring the business value of design
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive transformation
