Based in London, our client is renowned for its continuing advancements in online technologies that have changed the world. An ambitious, fast-paced forward-thinking company with very creative culture.

They are looking for a Data Scientist with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position, to initially join their team on an 12-month contract.

In this role you will manage up to three projects involving experiments, data analysis, test planning, and quality assurance, while effectively presenting findings to leadership and consulting with other client’s teams.

For this remote opportunity, our client is willing to offer a starting salary of £95.000 – 104K depending on location.

Our client is currently conducting all interviews online and is onboarding all new workers remotely.

What will a Data Scientist do?

  • Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modelling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.
  • Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.
  • Provide Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization support, which includes, but limited to support for the online customer service dashboards and other ad-hoc requests requiring data analysis and visual support.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a data scientist or a Ph.D. in a quantitative field with 2+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Strong skills in SQL and in Python or R.
  • Data experimentation experience
  • Experience in Ads (e-commerce industry) or Teach (economic consulting).
  • The ability to communicate effectively in writing, including conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
