Our client, a leading multinational technology company is seeking a talented Data Analyst to join their team for a 12-month PAYE contract. This will be a Hybrid role, working from our client’s offices in Dublin 4.

This role demands a strong problem-solver with a knack for data analysis and project management. You will be responsible for driving outcomes on multiple projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and optimizing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve ambiguous cases of potential abuse by leveraging expertise in fraud detection.
  • Analyze underlying causes of abuse anomalies, identify new signals or gaps in existing processes, and collaborate with relevant teams for resolution.
  • Monitor dashboards and data pipelines, ensuring they are functioning effectively and have contingency plans in place.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Legal, to research trends in abuse, develop risk mitigation strategies, and measure the impact of these efforts.
  • Perform complex data queries and analyses, create visual models, and present findings on abuse trends to support fraud prevention and drive improvements in detection systems.
  • Develop frameworks to identify fraudulent activities, enforce product policies, learn patterns/trends in spam, and uncover product vulnerabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for new signals, automation, and workflow enhancements to improve abuse detection and prevention.
  • Cultivate deep industry and technological expertise to stay ahead of adversarial actors, disrupting their efforts to exploit the system.
  • Provide strategic guidance and influence within the Trust & Safety team to shape the direction of abuse prevention efforts.
  • Lead and manage strategic and operational initiatives by collaborating across functions (e.g., Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy) to ensure alignment on objectives and successful execution.
  • Oversee and execute multiple internal and cross-functional projects, developing plans, synthesizing data, conducting analyses, and delivering actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate has: 

  • 2+ years of deep working experience with database querying.
  • Advanced proficiency in conducting complex queries using SQL.
  • Experience managing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring efficient and effective operation. 
  • The ability to analyze data, understand abuse signals, trends, and threats, and transform this analysis into actionable recommendations. 
  • Experience with trust & safety, payment fraud or similar fraud detection is beneficial.
