Construction Sales Manager

A Technical Sales/Specification Manager Role with a Leading Global Manufacturer of Waterproofing and Insulation Solutions.
This company is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Construction Sales Manager to join their Technical Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing overall sales, profits and market position by developing project system specifications with architects, surveyors, main contractors, building owners, approved contractors and offering the range of products to meet customer requirements with correct prompt solutions.

Key Functions:

  • Develop project specifications, offer technical and product information support to new and existing clients
  • Secure new projects by proactively looking for opportunities in the marketplace and responding to customer requests
  • Manage and develop customer accounts, establishing new customer accounts
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Conduct CPD presentations to architects and main contractors
  • Visit building sites as required and write site surveys
  • Manage orders as per specification by referring to price lists and product literature
  • Update company’s CRM system – Salesforce, with the relevant client information
  • Review targets and KPIs with management on a regular basis
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace intelligence on pricing, products, new products, etc.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Undertake training as required
  • Assist in product and application development

Must Have Skills:

  • Background in construction industry
  • Good knowledge of basic construction technology
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Good IT skills with experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
  • Previous experience with CRM and ERP systems
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Team player capable of working with others to achieve company goals
  • Excellent administration, communication, organisational skills and customer service

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Qualification in Construction or Architectural Technology would be an advantage
  • Experience with AutoCAD or thermal calculation procedures would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of NBS for high level specification accuracy
