Our client, a leading company in the machinery sales, retail, and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented accounting professional to take on a pivotal role within a growing organization.
Role Description
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial data. This will involve overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including customer invoicing, supplier invoices, intragroup invoicing reconciliation, provisions, inventory, and fixed assets. You will also be responsible for conducting monthly and annual accounting closures, delivering P&L and balance sheet reports, and managing the company’s banking and cash flow.
Technical Must Have Skills:
- Accounting Expertise – Proven experience in a similar accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, and auditing procedures.
- ERP System Proficiency – Demonstrated expertise in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with a particular focus on the IFS accounting platform.
- Financial Analysis – Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
- Problem-Solving Skills – Adept at resolving complex accounting issues and implementing solutions to improve financial processes.
- Attention to Detail – Meticulous and proactive in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Technical Nice to Have Skills:
- Industry Experience – Prior experience in the machinery sales, retail, or logistics sectors, providing a deeper understanding of the client’s business operations.
- Reporting Expertise – Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports and analyses for the management team, using tools like Tagetik.
- Project Management – Experience in leading the implementation of new accounting systems or processes, demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Language Proficiency – Fluency in French and a good operational level of English, enabling effective communication with the client’s international team.
- Audit Coordination – Familiarity with coordinating and supporting external audits, ensuring a smooth and compliant process.
Additional Functional Requirements:
- Stakeholder Management – Ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and the management team, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Process Improvement – Proactive in identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Compliance Oversight – Responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
- Administration and Documentation – Proficient in maintaining accurate records and archives, including sales contracts, supplier agreements, and legal documents.
- Adaptability – Able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Accounting Diploma – Holding a relevant accounting diploma, such as a DCG or DSCG, or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional Certification – Possession of a recognized professional accounting certification, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and development.
