Our client, a leading company in the machinery sales, retail and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Accountant / Comptable to join their team in Paris . This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to take on a critical role within a growing organisation in a very niche eco sector.
This is initially a six-month contract with the potential for a permanent position. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for the permanent role
Technical Must Have Skills:
- Accounting Experience – Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized company in France. Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to solve complex accounting issues.
- ERP System Proficiency – Proven experience working with ERP systems, with a preference for IFS experience. Ability to master the accounting functionalities of the system and generate comprehensive reports.
- Financial Reporting – Skilled in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis. Able to provide clear explanations to auditors and tax authorities.
- Tax Compliance – Responsible for VAT and corporate income tax declarations, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Accounts Receivable and Payable – Adept at managing customer invoicing, supplier invoices, and intragroup reconciliations. Proactive in recovering receivables and maintaining accurate inventory data.
Technical Nice to Have Skills:
- Banking and Cash Management – Experience in handling banking activities, including cash reconciliations and managing the company’s cash position.
- ERP Implementation – Knowledge of ERP implementation processes, with the ability to contribute to the successful rollout of new accounting systems.
- Financial Analysis – Proficiency in conducting in-depth financial analysis and providing insights to the management team.
- Multilingual Capabilities – Fluency in French and a good operational level of English. Ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail – Meticulous and proactive approach to ensuring the accuracy and quality of accounting data.
Additional Functional Requirements:
- Problem-Solving – Ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues, demonstrating strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Accounting Diploma – Possession of a Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion (DCG) or Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion (DSCG).
