The Company Accountant role is a crucial position within our client’s finance department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s accounting data. As the successful candidate, you will be at the forefront of the company’s financial operations, playing a pivotal role in driving the organization’s financial success.
Technical Must Have Skills:
- Accounting Expertise – Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of French accounting, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- ERP System Proficiency – Extensive experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with a strong preference for IFS experience.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting – Ability to analyse complex financial data, prepare accurate and insightful reports, and present findings to management.
- Tax Compliance – Thorough understanding of French tax regulations and the ability to ensure timely and accurate local tax filings, including VAT and corporate income tax.
- Audit Preparation – Experience in preparing for and liaising with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Technical Nice to Have Skills:
- Inventory Management – Experience in managing and reconciling inventory records, ensuring accurate stock levels and valuations.
- Fixed Asset Accounting – Proficiency in fixed asset management, including depreciation calculations and asset tracking.
- Banking and Cash Management – Expertise in bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and treasury operations.
- ERP Implementation – Involvement in the implementation and optimization of ERP systems, with the ability to train and support end-users.
- Analytical Mindset – Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
Additional Functional Requirements:
- Attention to Detail – Meticulous approach to data accuracy and quality, ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial records.
- Proactive Mindset – Ability to anticipate and address potential accounting challenges, taking a proactive approach to financial management.
- Excellent Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Educational and Certification Requirements:
- French Accounting Qualification – Must possess a recognized French accounting qualification, such as a DCG or DSCG, or equivalent.
- Professional Accounting Certification – Holding a relevant professional accounting certification, such as CPA or ACCA, is highly desirable.
