Our client is a large-scale bespoke engineering company that specializes in the construction of landmark structures around the world, particularly iconic bridge works and building structures. They are currently seeking a talented Lead Design Engineer (Heavy Lifting) to join their team.
Role Description
As the Lead Design Engineer (Heavy Lifting), you will be responsible for heavy lifting engineering design project management, including resource planning and programming, design review, and ensuring agreed deliverables are completed on time and within budget. You will also be the primary client liaison on technical matters, working closely with the established team of Engineers and CAD Technicians.
Must Have Skills
- Minimum 12 years of post-graduation experience in the analysis and design of structures, particularly in steel
- Experience in the design of specialist temporary works, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects
- Experience in technical team leadership and management
- Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of Eurocodes or similar for design
- Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and communication (written and verbal) skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Chartered Engineer with a good degree (min 2:1) in civil/structural engineering
- Experience in the design and construction of long-span bridges and major buildings
- Some site and/or industrial practical experience
- Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001 and experience in company management systems
- Knowledge and experience in the use of CAD packages (Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor)
