Role Description
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Net Asset Value (NAV) production process for the client’s private equity fund portfolio. Working closely with senior fund accountants and management in North America, you will be responsible for recording capital activity, reconciling cash flows, pricing portfolios, and ensuring accurate accrual of fund income and expenses. Additionally, you will assist in preparing investor statements and responding to ad-hoc reporting requests from clients.
Technical Must Have Skills:
- Strong Accounting Knowledge – Proficient in double-entry bookkeeping and understanding of relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent Excel Skills – Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Attention to Detail – Ability to work accurately and meet tight deadlines, ensuring both internal and external requirements are fulfilled.
- Effective Time Management – Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing multiple demands, and adapting to constant change.
- Fluent English – Proficient in both written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Technical Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior Fund Accounting Experience – Familiarity with closed-end fund structures, such as private equity, private debt, real estate, and venture capital.
- Accounting Designation – Possession of a relevant accounting qualification, such as CPA or ACCA, is desirable.
- Adaptability – Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and client requirements.
- Teamwork – Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
