ROLE:  Junior Accountant
Location:  Onsite – Valencia, Spain

Embark on your finance career with a global leader in high-quality fund accounting and administrative solutions for hedge funds, private equity, and other investment funds. Our North American client is expanding their talented team in Valencia, Spain and they are seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals ready to grow within a dynamic and supportive environment. You would join as a Junior Fund Accountant and play a vital role in supporting their Private Equity client portfolio, gaining invaluable experience and advancing your career in fund administration and accounting.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the preparation of net asset value (NAV) calculations for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Record capital activities such as capital calls and distributions.
  • Perform cash reconciliations and monitor cash activity.
  • Price portfolios in accordance with fund documentation.
  • Ensure income and expenses, including fees, are properly accrued following accounting standards.
  • Prepare investor statements and contract notes.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests from clients.
  • Effectively manage your workload to meet internal and external deadlines.

Technical Must Have Skills:

  • Solid foundational accounting knowledge – Understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping, enabling effective financial data handling.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) – Excellent communication skills are essential for preparing reports and collaborating with international teams.
  • Strong Excel skills – Ability to manage data, perform calculations, and manipulate spreadsheets efficiently to support reporting processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy – Critical for recording capital activities, reconciling cash, and ensuring correct portfolio valuations.
  • Organisational skills and time management – Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

  • Educational background in Accounting or Finance – Minimum of a diploma or degree; a relevant qualification supports foundational knowledge.
  • Accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) – Not mandatory but beneficial for career growth and technical expertise.
