Overview:

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our team on a 12-month B2B contract. Reporting to the Head of SCIB DevOps, you will be instrumental in implementing and fostering DevOps culture within the organization. Your role will involve driving automation, improving secure coding practices, enhancing development environments, and facilitating infrastructure as code for product teams. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both remotely and on-site in Málaga, Spain.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure Coding: Provide developers with tools and mechanisms to ensure secure coding practices.
  • Release Management Automation: Automate the release management process to streamline deployments.
  • Quality Gates: Define and implement quality gates; develop platforms that enable product teams to automate testing.
  • Configuration and Secrets Management: Establish effective solutions for managing configuration and secrets.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Enable product teams to implement infrastructure as code for streamlined deployments.
  • Observability as a Service: Provide application and infrastructure monitoring with centralized logging for enhanced observability.
  • Local Development Environments: Improve and optimize local development environments for increased efficiency.
  • Self-Service Platform: Build a self-service platform that enables product teams to access and consume DevOps services with ease.
  • Promote Engineering Excellence: Drive practices that improve time to market, collaboration, standardization, and automation to deliver customer value.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s or Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience with Git and repository scaffolding tools (e.g., Maven Archetype, Yeoman, Custom).
  • Knowledge of branching strategies (GitFlow, Trunk-based development).
  • Hands-on experience with CI tools (e.g., Github Actions).
  • Proficient in scripting (Ansible, Python, Helm).
  • Expertise with Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Openshift).
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance tools and practices (SonarQube).
  • Experience with TDD/BDD testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of centralized logging and monitoring tools (ELK, Beats, Prometheus, Grafana/Kibana, Dynatrace).

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with relational (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) databases.
  • Familiarity with public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of API development tools (Swagger, API Managers).
  • Networking and load balancer experience (Nginx, F5, DNS managers, SSL Certificates).
  • Understanding of static and dynamic security assurance tools (SAST, Fortify, Sysdig, BurpSuite).
  • Experience with BDD frameworks (Gherkin, Cucumber) and API testing (Karate, Rest Assured).
  • Front-end testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright).
  • APM tools (Dynatrace) and AIOps tools (Pagerduty).
