Great opportunity for a Data Engineer to join a leading technology company!

Our client, a leading tech multinational seeking a Data Engineer to join their team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for enriching, managing, and ensuring the quality of organizational and product usage data, with a focus on efficient query writing. You will enforce data governance policies and best practices, as well as develop documentation on data assets.

Contract: PAYE – duration  until 31st of December 2024, potential extension
Location: remote from Ireland
VISA: no sponsorship provided

Key Functions

  • Facilitate instrumenting data collection processes on the platform to ensure comprehensive data acquisition.

  • Cultivate a profound comprehension of data circulation and dynamics within the organization, ensuring smooth data flow across systems and departments.

  • Collaborate closely with various data teams, fostering partnerships to optimize data utilization and insights generation.

  • Proactively pinpoint and address data integrity issues through meticulous root cause analyses, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

  • Design and implement robust workflows, standardized processes, service level agreements (SLAs), and comprehensive documentation to govern the usage of product data effectively, promoting data governance and adherence to best practices.

Must Have Skills

 

 

  • 3 years + developing with Glide on ITSM platforms such ServiceNow or similar

  • experience writing complex queries

  • Proficiency in PL/SQL and an additional object-oriented programming language

  • Experience in big data instances such as Cloudera, Azure, Snowflake, etc.

  • Structured thinking with the ability to break down ambiguous problems and propose impactful data modeling designs

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

Nice to Have Skills

  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products

  • Experience working in Scrum/Agile development environments

  • Familiarity with IT service management software (ITSM), PaaS, and SaaS
