Our client, a leading provider of innovative recycling and reverse vending solutions, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team on a fixed term 6 month contract (contrat à durée déterminée or B2B). Role Description
As the Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial data. This will involve overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including customer invoicing, supplier invoice management, intragroup reconciliation, provisions, inventory, and fixed assets. You will also be responsible for conducting monthly and annual accounting closures, delivering profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and managing banking and cash flow reconciliations. Additionally, you will handle VAT and corporate income tax declarations, liaise with auditors and tax authorities, and assist the Entity Finance Manager in preparing reports and analyses for the management team.
Technical Must Have Skills:
- Accounting Expertise – Proven track record of successfully managing the full accounting cycle in a small to medium-sized organization, ideally within the machinery, retail, or logistics sectors.
- ERP System Proficiency – Extensive experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with a strong preference for IFS expertise.
- Financial Reporting – Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data, prepare detailed reports, and provide insightful recommendations to management.
- Tax and Compliance – Thorough understanding of tax regulations and the ability to ensure accurate and timely tax filings, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Attention to Detail – Meticulous and proactive approach to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records and data.
Technical Nice to Have Skills:
- IFS Experience – Familiarity with the IFS ERP system, which is the company’s primary enterprise software, would be highly advantageous.
- Accounting Certifications – Professional accounting qualifications, such as a Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion (DCG) or a Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion (DSCG), would be a significant asset.
- Machinery/Retail/Logistics Background – Previous experience in a similar role within the machinery, retail, or logistics industries would provide a valuable understanding of the client’s business operations and challenges.
- Multilingual Capabilities – The ability to communicate effectively in French and English, both verbally and in writing, would be highly beneficial for this role.
- Process Improvement – A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
Additional Functional Requirements:
- Stakeholder Management – Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and the management team.

Educational and Certification Requirements:
