We are currently seeking a Benelux Tax Manager for an exciting opportunity in Rijswijk, Netherlands. The main objective of the country Tax Manager is to manage all tax issues on the country level, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations while aligning with the company’s tax policies and guidance, process requirements, and work instructions.

What will a Tax Manager do?

  • Supporting/handling the responsible countries’ (Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands) tax affairs
  • Drafting all relevant calculations and tax filings (VAT,CIT,WHT, etc.) and ensuring that all tax obligations are met
  • Managing the cooperation with the company’s external tax advisors
  • Assuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and other requirements which involves updating and optimizing internal procedures and manuals
  • Maintaining the Transfer Pricing framework, including supporting with all documentation requirements based on local legislation as well as OECD guidelines, such as Local files etc.
  • Supporting tax audits when they may arise and manage tax risks.
  • Preparing tax calculations for financial reporting purposes
  • Contract review (tax clauses) and solution advise for the business team
  • Supporting the regional tax team to enhance the workflow and operation mechanism
  • The tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time

What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • At least 4 years of experience as a tax advisor or in-house tax professional.
  • Degree in Tax Law, Tax Economics.
  • Solid knowledge in VAT, CIT and transfer pricing. Belgium tax experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Business sense and entrepreneurship, hands-on mentality
  • Demonstrate strong commitment, perseverance and self-initiative
  • Highly structured mind, organized and able to plan
  • High flexibility and being able to manage multiple tasks, being target oriented and able to work under pressure
