Our client, a global innovative tech firm, has released a fantastic opportunity for a Wireless Communication Researcher to join a leading research team in Lund, Sweden. This is a fully onsite role, working with one of the most innovative companies in the industry, this is a chance to be part of a team that is driving the evolution of 5G and the emergence of 6G.

Our client is looking for an experienced RAN1 researcher within the field of wireless communication, who will be responsible for generating and evaluating innovative ideas for 5G and next-generation radio networks and associated technologies and solutions.

Duration:12 months with a possibility of extension
Location: Lund, Sweden

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Researching and developing 5G and next-generation radio networks and associated technologies and solutions
  • Generating and evaluating innovative ideas for 5G and next-generation radio networks and associated technologies and solutions
  • Addressing 3GPP standardization of current and future communication systems and creating and driving Intellectual Property Rights and standardization proposals
  • Communicating standardization activities and trends to other R&D teams and helping coordinate relevant research and development activities
  • Exploring potential University cooperation’s for emerging research concepts with potential for future radio access technologies

Must Have Skills

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering/communications systems or PhD or similar education
  • At least 5 years of experience in 4G/5G RAN1 research and 3GPP standards
  • Exposure to 6G research is a plus
  • Experience in innovation and IPR is a significant plus
  • Extensive academic network within the EU and also up-to-date knowledge about new research trends in academia
  • Highly motivated with good social skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience in physical layer and the functionality covered by 3GPP RAN1

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience as a rapporteur or feature lead for work or study items
  • Exposure to 6G research
