We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual to join us as a Senior Environmental and Blasting Specialist. In this role, you will take on significant responsibilities in the expansion and construction of Sweden’s power grid, focusing on the development and updating of 400 kV substations.

Our client is the authority responsible for ensuring that the electricity transmission system is safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective – today and in the future. They are an authority that is run in the form of a state enterprise with roughly 700 employees, most of whom work at the head office in Sundbyberg and have offices in Sundsvall and Sollefteå.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expertise in environmental impact and control related to earthworks, blasting work, and rock drilling, including tunnel and raise boring.
  • Support the technical aspects of soil and construction within projects and external initiatives.
  • Assist in updating requirements and guidelines for blasting work near Svenska kraftnät’s equipment and facilities.
  • Review contractor’s work preparations and rock inspection protocols.
  • Collaborate with contractors as needed and report to the Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on road and water or civil engineering, supported by a valid diploma.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in blasting and vibration engineering, particularly in soil and blasting projects.
  • Completion of at least 10 assignments in project and technical support, including acoustics from tunnel drilling, review of blasting plans, risk analysis, and damage investigations.
  • Proficiency in Swedish Standards pertaining to environmental impact, covering vibration, air shockwaves, noise impact, risk analysis, damage investigations, vibration investigations, control plans, vibration isolation, and the review of blasting plans and work preparations.
  • In-depth knowledge of earthworks, rock blasting techniques, and charge calculations.
