THE ROLE
As a Steel Bridge Investigator within the BEST section (Railway, Electricity, Signal, Telecom) of the Transport Department, you will be at the forefront of managing and developing critical infrastructure for subways, tramways, and railways.
Your role will involve:
- Construction Management: As a key responsibility, you will oversee the execution of repair measures, ensuring they meet the set requirements outlined in the prepared documents. Some repairs may necessitate non-destructive testing to ensure quality fixes.
- Inspection: Depending on the tender, you may be responsible for inspecting the work to ensure it aligns with project specifications.
- Work Document Preparation: You will prepare work documents in compliance with current standards, specifying quantities for repairs to steel structures.
- Requirements and Tender Support: Assist in the preparation of requirements within request documents and help evaluate tenders from contractors.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Relevant Education: A degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or a related field is required.
- Experience in Bridge Inspection: Demonstrated experience in inspecting and assessing the condition of steel bridges is essential.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with current standards and regulations for bridge maintenance and repair is necessary. This includes understanding the requirements for steel structure repairs and the use of non-destructive testing methods.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge and understanding of steel structures, including their design, construction, and maintenance, is required. This includes knowledge of steel properties, corrosion prevention methods, and repair techniques.
- Construction Management Skills: Experience in construction management and the ability to oversee and ensure the proper execution of repair works is necessary. This includes the ability to evaluate tenders, prepare work documents, and control the execution of repairs to meet set requirements.
