Public Policy Manager (AMET)

Based in London, our client is renowned for their continuing advancements in online technologies that have changed the world. An ambitious, fast paced forward thinking company with very creative culture.

Our client is currently conducting all interviews online and are onboarding all new workers remotely.

They require a Public Policy Manager with 8+ years of work experience in Public Policy and experience working with 1-2 markets within Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) region, to join them on a 12-month contract.

What will a Public Policy Manager do? 

· Identify, monitor, and analyse current and emerging public policy issues affecting the platform in the AMET region

· Identify proactive strategies to solve policy challenges to advance their policy goals

· Engage with policymakers, government officials, industry partners, thought leaders and civil society groups

· Design and lead innovative regional programs and campaigns to shape the public and political climate of opinion around the platform and the issues it cares about

· Work with the global team to develop policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings on key issues, including encryption, privacy, integrity, safety, economic development, and e-commerce

· Advise teams on regional public policy matters to guide development of products, services and policies

· Represent the client’s platform at public events in the region.

What does the Ideal Candidate look like?                        

· 8+ years of work experience in Public Policy, including experience managing strategic outreach with diverse stakeholders within policy advocacy or in a government position.

· Experience working with 1-2 markets within Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) region is essential.

· Experience managing policy projects / programs (formal project management qualification a bonus)

· Degree or advanced degree in policy, law, international affairs, or any other related field.

· Keen understanding of, and interest in, public policies related to technology, privacy and safety.

· Strong understanding of the regional, political landscape and policy issues in the AMET region
