Payroll Administrator – Remote Europe

Allen Recruitment Consulting are looking to hire a Payroll Administrator to join our high performing, close knit team, to help us payroll our ever-expanding team of head office employees, temps, consultants and contractors across Europe and beyond.

Today we have offices in Ireland, the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, and a new office in Spain. Offices in Italy, France, Sweden, Belgium, and Norway are in the process of being set up, plus we have workers in many other countries in addition to this.

Our Payroll Administrator will work in our Accounts Team processing the payroll, manging timesheets, looking at monthly reporting and investigating and resolving payroll issues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is a finance role where you can work fully remotely or partly from home but from any European location that suits you.

  • Co-ordinate full processing of EMEA payrolls, including salaried and hourly staff
  • Complete payroll tasks required for EMEA entities working on different schedules
  • Implementing and maintaining controls over all payroll documentation and processes
  • Drive operational improvements and standardisation across payroll functions
  • Weekly Collection and management of timesheets and timesheet systems
  • Management of commission and bonus systems and processes
  • Investigation and resolution of payroll issues
  • Working as part of the Operations team to on-board new clients and new employees
  • Monthly reporting to Senior Finance team across all entities
  • Monthly reporting to and liaising with finance specialists across all entities
  • Other such duties in connection with payroll processing, issue resolution and client relations as may arise from time to time

Must-have skills to be considered for this job:

  • Fluent English
  • 3-5 years’ experience in payroll processing
  • Working knowledge of Ireland and Polish payroll
  • Strong Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot table)
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines
  • A strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Strong, articulate communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience in understanding payroll laws

Nice to have:

  • Qualification with IPASS or country-equivalent
  • Working knowledge of various payroll software (example Brightpay)
  • Working knowledge of specific European payroll processes
  • Experience in automation projects
  • Second or third European language
  • Used to autonomy and creating improvements
